Piranha Drone
Piranha drones are a space station defense system. They are designed to swarm enemy spaceships, grab hold, and mine into there hulls. These drones are mostly automated, with the only manual control being their launch and targeting. Only the drones have a target, they will do anything to destroy it. Only an emergency recall or their destruction is able to stop them. They run completely on thermal E.C.E. so not even emp’s are able to stop them.
They are stored in pods imbedded in their space station. When they are needed, the pod is ejected and they are released. When they return they re-enter their assigned pod, and the pod get’s magnetized back to it original position. After they return, the imbed opens and they are able to receive maintenance. Each pod contains 8 piranha drones.
They are designed for extreme mobility with 5 thrusters; 4 for orientation and dodging, and 1 for forward thrust. Their built in ai allows them to read incoming projectiles and to scan their target for week points. When they detect an incoming projectile they are capable to either shoot it down or dodge out of the way.
Piranha drones are equipped with 2 thermal lasers. These lasers are powerful, so both lasers are completely surrounded in frost E.C.E. for prolonged fire.
The drones are also equipped with a pair of heavy duty jaws, allowing them to grab hold of their target. Once attached, they will continuously mine into the target using their lasers. once they detect that their laser aren’t hitting anything, they will detach and change position to continue mining.
Warning
Due to their high contents of both thermal and frost E.C.E., when they are destroyed their explosion will both melt and freeze any and every thing in its radius.
