Resource Ship: The Manatee

The Manatee was named after an old myth about a space fairing creature that would drag wrecked spaceships through space to build a nest. Manatee’s are designed to be cargo ships, capable of both carrying massive loads and dragging cargo that is too big to fit in the ship. These shift are used by VexTech resource rangers for both resource gathering and scavenging missions. These ships are not designed to land so it is the only ship that has airlocks built for space walks.
There is 6 resource rangers per ship. Each are trained to do everything, so if someone is needing a break, someone can take over. During missions there are always 2 people left on the ship; 1 to keep an eye on the cockpit, and 1 to keep an eye on the incoming cargo.
The cargo bay is comprised of 2 parts, receiving and cargo storage. Receiving has 2 spatial drop points over top a conveyer line with empty cargo containers ready to receive. The ranger watching cargo has to communicate with the ranger on the ground, to make sure the right sized container is prepared. Once the container is filled, it is sent down the line to an empty spot in storage.
Each container is has a built in spatial translocator. So when it is time to deliver the cargo, the rangers just need to select the needed containers and set the drop point. When it is confirmed that the containers are empty, they can translocate them back to receiving.
There are 6 towing chains coming out of the back of the ship. Each individually retractable and extendable, depending on the size and grab points of the object needing to be dragged. Each chain is needed to to be attach manually via space walk.
There are 3 reactors; 1 Gen.2 spatial warp drive, space grade thermal reactor, and a frost generator. The ship it only designed for mass distances and minor distances, so there are only orientation thrusters to not damage whatever is being towed. There are 14 orientation thrusters. 12 around the primary hull, and 2 that can rotate around the cockpits neck.
